Pittsburgh Galleries Project

The Pittsburgh Galleries Project is a partnership between Avonworth High School in Pittsburgh, PA, and six museums and galleries in the city, including the Andy Warhol Museum, Carnegie Museum of Art, Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh Glass Center, and the Toonseum of Pittsburgh. With this project student teams work alongside museum and gallery professionals to, at first, learn about the behind-the-scenes world of art museums and galleries, and then to curate exhibits on the Avonworth High School campus with their partnering museums. The program began in 2013 and was initially supported through a Hive Connected Learning Grant from the Sprout Fund. Avonworth is a proud member of the Remake Learning Network, an innovative educational cluster in Pittsburgh.
